a passionate, community-driven organization dedicated to transforming the environment in Lucky Summer Ward, Nairobi County. We unite 15 organized groups of diverse ages to tackle solid waste management and foster environmental conservation, ensuring a cleaner, greener future for our community.

We prioritize efficient solid waste management as a cornerstone of our environmental initiatives. Our approach encompasses the collection, separation, and responsible disposal of waste generated in the community. Green Investments
LEWMO actively supports local enterprises focused on sustainability through our green investment initiatives. River Restoration Projects
We are committed to revitalizing our local waterways through targeted river restoration projects. Our efforts focus on beautifying the Mathare and Nairobi Rivers, transforming them into vibrant ecosystems that benefit both the environment and the community. By creating open green spaces along the riverbanks, we enhance biodiversity and provide safe, accessible areas for recreation and relaxation
Community Clean ups
Our weekly community clean-up campaigns are essential in maintaining the cleanliness and beauty of our neighborhoods. These initiatives mobilize volunteers from all walks of life to come together, remove litter, and promote environmental awareness. By fostering a spirit of collaboration, we not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of our surroundings but also instill a sense of pride and responsibility among community members.
Tree Nursery Establishments
We establish our own tree nurseries from our seedbeds. We mainly major on fruit trees, indigenous, a few exotic trees and bamboo plantations which are planted along our rivers. The initiative has helped us create more green spaces and river bank stabilization
