Students and Young Professionals Engage in Environmental Action

In a bid to inspire the next generation of environmental stewards, Luckysummer Environment and Waste Management Organization (LEWMO), with support from the IKEA Foundation, hosted an impactful engagement for students and young professionals. The event, held at Luckysummer Ward, showcased LEWMO’s innovative and sustainable approaches to environmental conservation.

Participants were given the opportunity to experience the organization's work firsthand, delving into activities such as sustainable waste management practices, river restoration projects, and a tree seedling initiative. These practical sessions aimed to equip attendees with real-world insights and skills to champion environmental sustainability in their respective fields.

Speaking at the event, LEWMO's leadership emphasized the importance of engaging youth in environmental advocacy. “We believe in empowering the next generation to take ownership of their environment. Through hands-on experience, these young minds can envision and drive sustainable change,” said a representative from the organization.

This initiative is part of LEWMO’s broader mission to create a cleaner, greener community by fostering partnerships and building capacity among local and international stakeholders.

Participants expressed their enthusiasm for the event, praising the opportunity to learn directly from a community-driven environmental organization. "It’s inspiring to see how grassroots initiatives can have such a profound impact. This experience has given me new ideas for applying sustainability in my studies and future career," shared one student attendee.

With support from organizations like the IKEA Foundation, LEWMO continues to bridge the gap between environmental theory and practice, proving that collective action is key to addressing pressing environmental challenges.
